A bumper tap, a basketball, a section that has cooked and warped on a west elevation — one bad panel can make a solid door look finished. Usually it is not. If the frame, tracks and remaining sections are sound we replace the damaged panel alone: profile, gauge and colour matched to the run, hinges and struts transferred or upgraded, and the door back to full structural strength the same visit.
Two local warnings are worth stating plainly. Colour: the sun here fades door finish measurably over a decade, so a factory-fresh section in the original colour can read noticeably brighter than the faded sections beside it, and we show you that comparison before you order. And warping: on wood and composite doors a west-facing section can genuinely cup or bow from heat, which opens a gap at the edge — that is a fit problem as well as a looks problem, and in the hill towns a gap is a fire-safety problem too.
A warped section is more than cosmetic in a hill town. Once a panel bows, the door no longer seals along that edge, and the gap it leaves is exactly the sort of opening embers travel through in a wind-driven fire. Replacing a cupped section restores the seal line as well as the appearance, and it is one of the small, cheap things that genuinely improves a house's chances on the wildland edge.
